The Thanksgiving season is upon us and while we should be thankful all throughout the year, the holidays are a great time to think back, reflect, and enjoy the little things.

With our basic necessities of life (food, water & shelter) on top of the list, Here are just SOME of the things that Home Gig is thankful l for this year.

Family

Family is the support you can always count on, the people you can call and depend on all your life. We feel fortunate and truly blessed to have the love and closeness of our families.

Health

A very wise person once told me - “You’re health is your wealth.” Self care, balance, mediation, healthy nutrition, and exercise, it takes time but it’s worth the investment! Eivar is running 1/2 marathons to keep in shape and Lauren is practicing yoga and playing tennis.

Home

We love our homes. Its the place where we start and end our day. In our cases its our office too. This year Lauren completed well needed repairs and updates including - a new roof, windows, interior painting, installed skylights and purchased new furniture and window treatments. She also removed dead trees and overgrowth around the property to enhance thelandscape. It feels good to make this financial and emotional investments and it supports the security that comes from homeownership.

Friends

Good friends are hard to come by. Good friends encourage us, motivate us, and support us. They're the people you call in an emergency and the ones that listen to you when you need a good ear. These awesome individuals may also be the ones you have a never-ending group chat with. Friends are the people that know you better than you know yourself and come swooping in just when you need them.

New Opportunities

The chance to travel, learning new skills, creating new alliances, new ideas - a new anything! New opportunities are new potential experiences, new memories. We are always open to new opportunities at Home Gig and are Thankful for the ones that come our way.  As Creatives we enjoy innovation and keeping ideas fresh. With our new Boston office in place, we are now able to service both our island and off island clients.

Happiness

Being thankful for the tiny little treasures. Appreciate the value of happiness. Be thankful for the little moments, the ones that make you smile unexpectedly or laugh uncontrollably. Stop and smell the roses life is short, live in the moment.

Style Gig at the UPSIDE DOWN HOUSE in Katama~

Home Gig worked with our Edgartown clients to unpack, organize, install and style their new Katama Home, easing their transition in time to enjoy the 2016 summer season.

The process of moving to a new home can be difficult for homeowners, especially when downsizing or moving to a completely new and different floor plan. This spring, Home Gig was hired by our Edgartown clients to unpack, organize and reconfigure their furniture plans when they moved from their in-town Edgartown home to an “upside down house” in Katama. 

This “upside down” house was design to have the living space on the top floor and the bedrooms on the bottom floor. The added elevation allows homeowners to enjoy views from up high. The upper level also features a large deck for the family to enjoy outdoor living.   The lower level contains three bedrooms including a spacious master suite with two full baths. Homes like these are not just unique and fun to look at but they capture beautiful views from the windows and deck.

 Mayflower Movers facilitated this local move.  They did all of the packing and heavy lifting while Homegig’s team of stylists, Lauren and Katie, picked up where they left off. Working together with the home contractor, our team collaborated inside to style and organize the home. While Home Gig was doing their magic on the interior, outside a 3 car garage, pool house, in-ground pool, outdoor kitchen and seating for an outside theater were constructed. 

Utilizing the clients existing furniture, Lauren and Katie resolved the smaller floor plan by culling some of the collections, books and knickknacks and swapping out furniture pieces in the living room, dining room, kitchen and bedrooms.

After the construction was complete, Katie planted and installed the outside flowerpots and containers, while Lauren selected art work placement and styled the finishing touches.

The results were successful and the clients were thrilled with Home Gig’s creative services!

A BABE IN THE WOODS

Woodland inspired baby shower styled by Home Gig

Tucked deep in the forest of Corpus Christi, Texas a group of friends from all over the state gathered to give their friend her baby shower.....

 We were thrilled when they asked Home Gig to design the paper materials and style the event! We designed everything from scratch to coordinate with the Babe in the woods themed event. This rustic outdoorsy camping-themed party included details such as burlap-embellished mini lanterns, packaged smore’s for later, fox themed invitations, welcome forest friend sign, wishes for baby and more. We used small pine trees and foxes to add extra flair to diaper cake. The games were unique and functional. There were paper foxes with “wishes for the baby messages’,  Price is right, Don’t say Baby game with Fox clips, and Guess that Smell. 

Bite size foods prepared by the hosts included a buffet of sweet and savory dishes and arrow skewer donut holes. Using strictly wooden bowls and platters we mainly relied on the DIY cake plates made from sliced tree and included a full signage package for all the food and drinks.

And don’t forget the forest favors! Sunflower grow kits in sweet terracotta planters, perfectly coordinated with the invitation suite.

We loved the opportunity to work with this client, but most of all, to meet her family and friends who were so lovely and enthusiastic. We can’t wait to meet Asher and welcome him into the world. Thanks for including Home Gig in such a joyous event!

New Year, New Opportunities!

In addition to another year marketing with clients Murdick’s Fudge Martha’s Vineyard, we are thrilled to announce new projects at Home Gig for 2016.

Event Styling:

This year brings additional work with special events and event styling with projects including a Summertime Wedding, a Spring Baby Shower and a Fall Bat Mitzvah. Themes we are working on include Baby Elephants, Forest Theme (we see foxes and raccoons in our future!) and a barn theme Bat Mirzvah – we like the idea of a “Ben’s Barn Mitzvah”.

Property Refreshers

We continue to be inspired by the beauty that surrounds us. The winter months bring travel to the Florida Keys to work on design upgrades to our client’s winter home and to Waterville Valley, NH to work on refreshing a ski cabin for our North Shore clients.

Brand Development

Are you passionate about beautiful Gardens?  At Home Gig we are super excited to be working with our new clients at Garden-Folly tours. Deserving of Bucket List Status, Garden-Folly tours provides intimate and luxurious travel tours focusing on the finest gardens throughout Italy, France and England.

Brand Development starts this spring when we “Get Lost in the Follies.”

Murdick’s Fudge and Murdick’s Café – Martha’s Vineyard

A Slice of the Island   - 3 Store locations on Martha’s Vineyard serving the finest in Fudge, Brittle, Caramel and Cheese Corn and Ice Cream

Murdick’s fudge has been a successful fudge maker and confectioner on Martha’s Vineyard for 36 years. In business from Mackinac Island, Michigan since 1897 Murdick’s is most notorious for it delicious - home-made in-front- of -you - Fudge -  (15 different varieties!) as well as Peanut and Cashew brittle, Cheese and Carmel Popcorn and Ice Cream.

With a successful business model in place, Murdick’s General Manager, Mike McCourt engaged Home Gig to develop Murdick’s Fudge Marketing plan for his three island stores, cafe and online business.

Home Gig established a strategic marketing plan to improve in store and online sales. We designed collateral enhancements to improve brand recognition, put a social media plan in place, created and allocated advertising campaign, developed a marketing budget, arranged event planning, community and local charitable participation, managed public relations and more…

We are currently working on Murdick’s 2016 marketing planning and we are thrilled to be part of the Murdick’s team!
