Baby its Cold Outside

Here on Martha’s Vineyard with January’s arrival, so are frigid temperatures. At Home Gig we understand the value of keeping the fire burning in our airtight woodstove during these unforgiving winter months. A steady supply of firewood can help offset heating costs and is a renewable resource.

Ordered locally from Lickity Split Logs, come mid October, our bounty of well-seasoned firewood is delivered  - stacking not included!

Firewood dumped in a heap won't dry and it won't burn well. Stacked properly, a well-built pile provides ventilation and keeps wood from being disposed to molds or fungus.

We know that there is an art and science to stacking firewood; at Home Gig we like to think that there is a spiritual side to it as well.

So duty calls and ‘a stacking we go….

‘"Wood warms you twice ...once when you cut it and again when you burn it." Henry David Thoreau  - He forgot to mention, when you stack it….!

Assembling wood isn’t our favorite thing to do- but if it looks nice, Home Gig’s creative team thinks it’s worth the effort!

We love the way it looks when we are done and are inspired by the different and ambitious ways that others stack their wood both inside and outside!

Home Gig on the Road!

This past weekend Home Gig saddled up and hit the road to San Antonio, Texas. Our mission was to explore home styling ideas for our clients. During our free time we were able to see the many attractions that this fun city had to offer. Our trip started with our accommodations in the Roy Rogers Suite, a.k.a. “King of the Cowboys,” at the Menger Hotel, one of the oldest and historic hotels in the southwest. Other highlights of our trip included touring the Riverwalk, sightseeing at the Alamo, eating festive Mexican food, and cheering on the San Antonio Spurs, check out the Jumbotron - Home Gig made it! Throughout this short trip we gathered many local artistic and design inspirations to incorporate into our next home styling gig. 

We thank San Antonio for being such a great host to Home Gig! Next stop, “We’ll be keeping it weird in Austin, Texas!”

Dreaming of a White Christmas at Home Gig

Happy Holidays from Home Gig! This Holiday season we hope for peace and prosperity for all. At Home Gig we plan on bringing holiday cheer by volunteering with elder services at Windamere Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  In addition, we will contribute to Globe Santa, Toys for Tots, and to Veteran Services and our Troops Overseas. We find these acts of kindness leave happiness and heart prints throughout the year. We hope you do too!

It's December at Home Gig

This month Home Gig is excited to share with you CALL MAMA, CASHMERICALS AND VELVET CRUSH - our current creative marketing endeavors, inspriations and what we need to get us through a bustling and bright December !

Home Gig creative marketing services is thankful to be working with new client CALL MAMA creating their visual brand identity for their marketing and Kickstarter campaigns. This grass roots company is the brainchild of local entrepreneurs, Katie Dawson, Claire Ganz and Karen Bonnano, who, through like minded thinking are creating an online community and environment dedicated to supporting community through connections and conversations. 

Home Gig designed CALL MAMA’s logo drawn from inspirations from archived 1930’s and 40’s lifestyle magazines; typography, simple graphics and nostalgia which harkens to the core values of this community.

Home Gig - Cashmericals!

Home Gig loves all things Cashmere - especially wrapping ourselves up on a cold winter morning - its both cozy and stylish. We love to mix it with sparkles or layer it with jeans. Scarves, sweaters, shells, wraps, throws, socks, underwear, and rugs - you name it, we believe in Cashmericals! 

This winter Home Gig will up-cycle our old/dated/and torn cashmere sweaters into a Cashmere Project Repat Blanket! As event styling experts we're always keeping our eyes open for style that can be incorporated into any event from business professional to chic and upscale.

Home Gig Crushed on Velvet

At Home Gig creative services we are crushed on velvet this season. Its all around us; on vintage furniture and pillows, bloused with jeans or worn as a cape. We see it in every color - Aqua blue, Royal Blue, Red, Black, Gold, Amethyst, Hunter Green and Hot Pink! This luxurious material looks regal in royal blue and would adds that perfect bit of whimsy to any event. When styling your next event be sure to consider incorporating a hot pink crushed velvet sofa to create an eccentric and inviting lounge area! Home Gig at Aucoot Cove - Wins Custom Home Award for Best Detail

At Home Gig developing creative marketing plans and concepts is something we love doing and being apart of.  We were excited to be on site to prepare, script, style and oversee the photo shoot for the Aucoot Cove Residence in Marion with architectural photographer Brian Vanden Brink.  Home Gig included these images in an eye catching award winning submission to Custom Home Magazine. This "celery stock" inspired outdoor shower is the winner of a 2013 Custom Home Custom Detail | Grand Award.  We believe a great team is the foundation for great editorial and award submissions, and we have a great team. Congratulations to Hutker Architects, it was great to be a part of this project!

Happy Halloween from Home Gig

Here’s What’s Brewing at HOME GIG

Pumpkins are carved, grapes have been harvested, outdoor showers are turned off, wood has been stacked, spiced cider is on, costumes are queued up, and treats are prepared. We’re welcoming back the fall seasons wonderful aromas, beautiful colors, and biting breezes with open arms, how about you?  

October has been a thrilling month for Home Gig’s creative services. Our team has been working with our new clients– Every Soul and Off The Coast on brand development and marketing campaigns. There’s just something about helping people translate thoughts, visions, and ideas into great branding designs that gives us that warm fuzzy fall feeling.

Every Soul is a trendy, fun, and colorful beaded jewelry and accessory line created for and by every soul. We’re excited to be helping this start up with their creative marketing needs, including creating their logo and some some promotional marketing materials and were proud to show it off! Be sure to check out their featured skull-shamballa bracelet if you like Halloween, like US you will love this.  Skull beads + Shamballa style = awesome! The beads are made with Howlite, which is an extremely calming stone, said to relieve anxiety, tension and unreasonable anger and encourage patience and selflessness – Namaste we say!

Off the Coast is a women’s apparel line created as a homage to the spouses of the U.S. Coast Guard aka “Coasties”. Located on Cape Cod, this line will be the must have for Coasty wives and women alike. We’ve created the perfect fun bright and fresh nautical logo for them.
